About A.G.M

Together in His service

We had our opening service on Sunday the 3rd of September 2017 under the leadership of Pastor Reinhard and Anneke Kotze.  During April 2018, Pastor Vincent and Sandra Piedt took over the responsibility of this ever growing family based ministry.

Whilst we remain faithful to the primary mission and vision of the mother church according to Isaiah 61:1-2

“… the Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor, He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and to release from darkness the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour… “

In Psalm 45:7-8 we read that God anions Jesus with the oil of joy.  In the New Testament it is confirmed in Hebrews 1:8. Jesus proclaims in Isaiah 61:1-3 that He has come to set the captives free and bind up the broken hearted. In verse 3 He continues to say that He will give them beauty for ashes the oil of joy for mourning.

The Oil of Joy Consist of:

Olive Oil – We know that Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane, praying and crying to His Father, before He was crucified and crushed for our sins. Gethsemane means ‘oil press’ where the olive have to be crushed and broken for the oil to flow. Jesus was bruised and crushed, just like the olives, so that we can experience the freedom that His blood paid for. The olive oil is symbolic of the Holy Spirit whom Jesus sent to break the yoke of bondage and to set us free. The olive oil forms the basis of the oil and again shows that we can do nothing without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The more we are pressed and bruised, the more oil must flow from us and the stronger the anointing must flow through us.

Aloe:

This plant is described as a hardy plant and only produces oil after 30 years. It also has to be cut and sliced for the oil to flow. Jesus’ ministry started at the age of 30 and He was torn apart for our transgressions.

Myrrh:

The Hebrew meaning for Myrrh is ‘mar’ to be grieved or bitter. The fragrance is sweet, but the taste is bitter, which reminds us of the bitter price that Jesus ad to pay for our sins. The stem of his plant must also be deliberately bruised and wounded in order for the precious resin to ooze out and form hardened teardroplets which when dry is red in colour, symbolizing the blood of Jesus.

Cassia:

A tree that grows at great heights, with a purple flower and the head of the flower hangs down as a symbol of humility. Jesus humbled Himself to the point of death and wants us against pride. The leaves are stripped and the back is ground to power. Again, it is symbolic of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.

Why and When to use Biblical Fragrant Oil Today:

  • As an act of consecration and dedication a setting apart for special purpose in God’s kingdom. House structure, articles of worship, clothing and people can be anointed as a sign of consecration to God. Consider anointing yourself every morning praying scriptures over your mind, heart, ears, eyes, hands and feet. It WILL change your day!
  • As the Priests of the home, husbands are encouraged to anoint their wives and children for consecration, protection, peace, pronouncing a blessing as did the Fathers of Old!
  • As a preparation to Bible study, devotional time, fasting, praise and worship.
  • In a time of sickness, fear, anxiety, oppression of the enemy and of mourning, ALSO in foot-washing ceremonies.

The Prayer Shawl

The tallit was and is an integral part of the Jewish Faith from which our own faith was born. It contains meaning and symbolism especially in the knotted tassels (Tzitzit) on its four corners (Kanaph, wings). To Jews and to anyone with understanding these knotted tassels God’s name, God’s Wod and God’s Power.

Tallit (or talith) contains two Hebrew words. “Tal” meaning “tent” and “ith” meaning “little”. Thus, tallit means “little tent”.

Tzitzit has 5 knots and 8 strings.

Between each knot there are different number of windings. KNOT-7-KNOT-8-KNOT-11-KNOT-13.7+8+11=26=YHVH.

13 Gematria of the word “Echad” – ONE.

Thus each corner has the same powerful statement – God is ONE.

Why would a Christian use a prayer shawl

Do you remember when you where a child when everything is bigger than you but you are safely wrapped in a blanket in your Father’s arms, and when you and your best friend builds a tent (a secret place) to hide away from the world. The prayer shawl captures this feeling.

Using the prayer shawl is to set aside private time with God. Coming to Him in prayer and to focus fully on Him, totally separated from worldly distractions. Under the tallit we can find a secret chamber where we can be moved from the where we can be moved from the mundane of life into closer relationship with God.

Tabernacle Prayer Ministry uses the prayer shawl when ministering, as a symbol of God’s love.

We wrap it around people when ministering, to them, to give comfort and to encourage that person to focus on God. Keep in mind, wearing the prayer shawl does not mean God will hear your prayer better. It is a tool to facilitate the wearer to separated him/her from any other interferences, while turning to God in earnest and heartfelt prayer.

There is nothing magical or superstitious about its use.

Vision

To preach the uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ, to the broken the lost and the destitute. To provide a home of worship to those seeking God and a spiritual hospital for spiritual healing. To train and equip saint for the work of the ministry and to take the gospel of hope to the ends of the earth through preaching, radio and television.

Mission

Isaiah 61:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

61The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;

2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

About Us

Founded in 2006 by Dr Gerhard and Karin Kotze, it has flourished under their leadership that has a firm foundation on the word of God, the Bible. Their desire is to see each person in the Western Cape be restored and empowered by the Holy Spirit that they in turn might minister effectively to others, so that the kingdom of God will be established and therefore bring the positive influence of the gospel of Christ to their communities through word and deed.

In addition to their Restoration Ministry in Parow they have also adopted a community in a small town called Murraysburg. This is a small farming community and most of the people there live way below the breadline. This is mainly because of the unemployment ratio that is so high. They have started a feeding scheme as the 250 children there are lacking in all areas and don’t even have access to proper clothing and food. They are trying to feed them at least one balanced meal a day; this on any given day is quite a challenge. These children are the future leaders and investing in their lives today means a better tomorrow for the entire town.

Dr Gerhard Past. Karin Kotze has passion to train those with a calling for the work of the ministry. Over the last four years they have trained more than 600 students. Dr Kotze with his great sense of humour and encouraging teachings has become a loved and respectful man of God in this community. In 2008 he was given a pair of shoes for his birthday by one of the most feared gang leaders in the Western Cape for his contribution for praying for peace between gangs. He has an established a powerful weekly Radio ministry, ministering to more than 500 000 listeners on a weekly basis. His message is: Never give up on your dreams. Past Karin has a heart for broken woman, and has a dream to have a house for abused woman. She has a passion to train people in counseling and challenge them to make a difference in the lives of others. She has survived the most difficult storms of life and believes that with God on your side all things are possible This is why they believe that Amazing Grace Academy should be driven by the belief that God has the power to transform and restore the lives of all people.
